Public BBQ

A water play park at South Ripley with a button-activated splash pad at its centre and an adventure playground alongside, laid out so a parent can watch both from one seat. The splash area suits all ages; the rope towers, high slides and small flying fox are really for seven and up, and there is little for toddlers beyond the water. Around it sit five covered seating areas, plenty of grass, drinking fountains, clean toilets, barbecues and free parking, with a cafe next door doing decent coffee. The water is not always running - it goes off for maintenance and in the cooler months with nothing posted to warn anyone, which has caught out families who drove an hour to get here. Shade close to the equipment is thin, so the metal gets hot, and magpies swoop in spring.

Generally No! The BBQs are first come, first serve. However, if you plan on having a larger event then please check with Ipswich council.

Aussie public BBQs are simple to use. Majority of sites listed on this website are gas or electric BBQs. Simply press the button and it will turn on for a set amount of time (10-20 minutes).

You should first check with Ipswich council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
